Kongsgaard Gin takes you on a journey from root to fruit through its wide range of complex plant products such as coriander, raw licorice, charred oak, resin, with a unique addition of Danish apples. In honor of this every bottle of gin is characterized by the variety of apple used and the year in which they were harvested. At the centerpiece of the layers of flavour in Kongsgaard Gin are Danish apples, blessed with rich aromas of sweet, mildly spiced & tangy sour notes. To preserve and enhance these crispy flavours, a bold blend of 11 bespoke botanicals is distilled. The core method includes cold macerations to get as much of the raw taste and aromatics out, before distilling. The team at Kongsgaard use an open flame Cognac still to make its delicious gin – this expression sees the Cognac influence taken even further, having spent 18 months resting in French Limousin oak Cognac casks, resulting in generous waves of creamy vanilla and soft spice.
